About Us

First and foremost, EastLake Students is about students helping students find and follow Jesus Christ.  Sure, there are lots of ways to describe what a church is like, but we figure that it’s pretty important that we tell you upfront that He is what we’re all about.  So if you’ve got questions about Jesus, we’d like to think that we’re a good place for you to find some answers.  And if you’ve already decided to follow Jesus and are looking for a place to get plugged into ministry and connect with other people in a meaningful way, we believe that EastLake Church is a good place for you to take your next right steps in faith.

We’ve decided to be a safe place for every student to explore faith in community, with no perfect people allowed. It’s a place to be themselves, grow spiritually, build authentic friendships, and make a difference in their lives and on their school campuses. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of your story, your questions, your doubts, or your struggles.  We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we believe in a God who does.

What To Expect

  • People will be nice to you.  And they won’t treat you funny.

  • Excellent programs for middle school and high school students.  And by “excellent”, we actually mean it – students learn about God in an age-appropriate setting and have a good time in the process.

  • Our services will be around an hour long.

  • There will be music.  It will be loud.

  • The pastor will talk about topics that make a difference in your life.

  • People will be dressed informally.  Jeans and flip-flops are pretty common around here.

HOW WE LIVE IT:

EastLake Church is all about, all because of, and all for, Jesus. It’s not about buildings with baristas, bowling alleys or bookstores.  (Not that we have a problem with any of those things.)  Like the first century church, we gather together for large group celebration on the weekend, and then meet in smaller groups during the week to connect in relationship and grow spiritually.

We believe the Church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves.  Like Jesus, we will stand for those who cannot stand up for themselves. This is why we continue to raise up new leaders who take teams on local and global mission work; both bringing good news and being good news. We were created to live for something larger than ourselves, and God invites everyone everywhere into this way of life.  We believe it is the best possible way to live.

Other:

We’re not really adept at finding messages in bottles or managing the flight patterns of carrier pigeons; plus, our telegraph machine recently went out of service. But if there’s another way you’d like to communicate with us, let us know and we’ll see if we can figure out how to do it.
